Kat grew up in a tiny picturesque village in mid Wales. Her parents left the big smoke behind and set up a pottery to give themselves and their family a better quality of life and it was their initial encouragement that inspired Kat to pursue a life in the arts. Many a happy year was spent in idyllic surroundings with her faithful dog at her side but soon it was time to see if the streets of London were indeed paved with gold.

Kat studied fashion womenswear at Central St Martins where she discovered an interest in illustration. Encouraged by her head tutor Howard Tangye, himself an established illustrator, she gained her first commission with Gucci.

Since then Kat has gone on to work for an impressive range of clients. She has also published a book with her sister in law, Tessa Carr, called The Happy Campers. Inspired by their own collected memories on the subject the book also features her other great passion; photography
